"Magic Wand"
HETRA's effective method of leading with this valuable tool, in combination with other techniques helps us SIGNIFICANTLY reduce equine burnout in our program.
- Used as an extension of our leaders arm, NOT a disciplinary tool.
- We don't have to pull on our horses halters- which they LOVE.
- Produces a higher quality, natural equine movement.
- Creates consistency in leading technique, easing our horses minds when it comes to expectations.

Organization & Barn Efficiency
Saddle Labels
Small durable plastic key tags keep our saddles labeled and neatly organized. This also prevents confusion for what saddle fits which horse and increases confidence in our volunteers tacking abilities!
Halter/Bridle & Girth Labels
These Velcro cord wraps work great for keeping things labeled and organized. Having individual halters/bridles help improve efficiency in our barn, avoiding having to adjust halters/bridles with each use.
We also use these wraps for our girths/cinches, improving accuracy and efficiency for our volunteers when tacking up each horse.
Jot Form
We use Jot Form to keep every facet of our organization organized. The possibilities are endless with this system. Keeps everything online, information that is easy to find and keep organized and pull reports from! Integrates easily with Salesforce to streamline processes and make your life easier.
Here is an example of one way we use JotForm for our volunteer sign-up page!

Sign-Up Genius
We use sign-up genius to stay organized and ease access for volunteers signing up for various trainings and other opportunities around the HETRA barn.
Tack & Equipment
Non-Slip Gel Pad
What is originally intended for leg wraps, when placed flat under the saddle or pad on our horses' backs, this gel pad can help prevent saddle slippage. It is important for it to lay flat for appropriate, comfortable usage for our horses.
Bonus: This gel pad can also be used on top of a saddle seat to help prevent participants from sliding as well!
Support Bar from Freedom Rider
This easy to use accessory bar can be added to English saddles for additional support for our participants.
Be aware that this bar is not build into the saddle, rather attached as an accessory. It can move and shift, so keep an eye on how much pressure is being displaced through the bar and that it is not pinching your horse in any way.
Bareback Pad from Freedom Rider
Used commonly in our therapy programming, these bareback pads provide padding and ability to use stirrups while offering the most movement flexibility for our participants.
Comes in two size seats.
While not set by manufacturer, in order to protect our horses back health, HETRA enforces a weight limit with these pads at 40 lbs. due to the tree-less nature of the pads.
Equine Sun Visor
We love this fly mask-sun protection combo for our horses that have blue eyes or pink skin in vulnerable areas on their faces. Horses that have these characteristics wear masks like this to protect them all year around when they are outside in turnout.
Flexible Curve
Have a horse that is tricky to saddle fit? Can't take your horse with you to the tack store? We use these handy little flexible rods to mold to our horses withers and then compare them to saddles to see if they will fit!
